Candy Johnson

Dr. Candy Johnson brings over 40 years experience as a Registered Nurse. She is an experienced hospital executive, having spent the prior 15 years before coming to Martin Methodist College as a Chief Nursing Officer responsible for all clinical disciplines which included full administrative oversight to develop, maintain and evaluate all processes and practices supporting the delivery of patient care.  Accomplishments as CNO include contributing to hospital recognition as a Solucient Top 100 Facility nationwide, successful planning and opening of a Rehabilitation Unit and attaining CARF and TJC accreditations of that unit, and attaining ADA recognized provider status for diabetes programs. Additionally, Dr. Johnson was instrumental in the successful start of the RN to BSN program at Martin.  Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Fellowship of Christian Nurses.  She has been married for 35 years to Larry, a retired minister. They have two grown daughters, Sarah an Ultrasound Technologist, and Shelah a Certified Nuclear Instructor with TVA.  She is active in her local church and enjoys reading and camping.
