First-Year Experience

First-Year Experience Program

The purpose of the First-Year Experience (FYE) Program is to assist new students in their successful transition to the academic and social aspects of college life. This is accomplished through students’ enrollment in the First-Year Experience courses (FYE 100, FYE 101), their participation in the summer and fall orientation programs, their involvement in 33 campus clubs and organizations, and their active participation in more than 100 workshops and programs organized throughout the year by the Student Resource Center, Career Services, Student Activities, the Class of 2015 Student Advisory Board, and the FYE Program Office.

The First-Year Experience courses are taught by instructors who also serve as their FYE students’ faculty mentor/academic advisor for their first year at Martin Methodist College.
