Mr. Jackson attended Martin College before receiving his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics from Middle Tennessee State University.  He has served as Chair of the Math and Science Division since Martin moved from two-year to four-year status.  Prior to his appointment at Martin, Mr. Jackson taught at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he taught college prep courses in calculus and elementary algebra. In addition to teaching, Mr. Jackson coached the men’s tennis team at Martin for eight years while it was still a two-year institution.  Three times during that period, teams qualified and participated in the National Junior College Tennis Tournaments.  Mr. Jackson served for many years as the faculty representative for the Tennessee Mathematics Teachers Association’s annual high school math contest.  His favorite part about teaching at MMC is the opportunity to engage students in a one to one conversation about the topics discussed in his math classes. His favorite television show is the Andy Griffith Show.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time outside working and playing with his grandson.
