Visit the campus of Martin Methodist College and you will quickly see how Martin differs from many other colleges and universities. It is the friendly and nurturing atmosphere that permeates the College. You will learn from caring faculty members who have received their training at universities like Vanderbilt, Yale, Arkansas, Indiana, Manchester, Mississippi State, Texas and Rochester. We keep our classes small so you and your professors can come to know one another. We offer over 30 academic programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees. Our academic programs are offered through the divisions of Business, Education, Humanities, Mathematics and Sciences, Nursing, and Social Sciences.

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Jim Murrell coordinates all aspects of the College’s academic program and academic support services, including the Warden Memorial Library and the Student Resource Center. He is a member of the President’s Executive Council, works with the faculty to shape the curriculum, and plays a central role in the recruitment, evaluation, and development of faculty. A biologist by training, Dr. Murrell has over 35 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience having served as a graduate dean, a dean of arts and sciences, and the chief academic officer at two other institutions.
