BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN CHURCH VOCATIONS

In the CHURCH VOCATIONS major, you will receive a basic understanding of the Christian faith, while learning the interpersonal skills necessary for working in a church-related organization. You may choose from four different areas of interest - CHURCH BUSINESS MANAGEMENTCHURCH MUSIC, PRE-SEMINARY. Accompanying this major is a newly developed program, The Center for Church Leadership that helps identify, recruit and train students who want to become church leaders.

Some students are interested in a deeper study of religion and are anticipating careers in church work of some sort. The Religion Department offers students this major with options for focusing one’s studies in ministry. This curriculum aims at clarifying the issues and beliefs of Christian faith while preparing students for graduate work or for employment in a church setting.

The Church Vocations major equips students for church careers through musical training, business administration expertise, or critical thinking/writing skills as needed by those entering church music, church business administration, or seminary, respectively.  The program builds these skills and abilities on a foundation of biblical and theological understanding.

GOALS
Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree program in Church Vocations will:
  1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of the Christian faith.
  2. Demonstrate the inter-personal communication skills needed to function in a voluntary organization.
