ON-CAMPUS TRANSFER STUDENT APPLICATION AND ADMISSION

Martin Methodist College pre-nursing students must apply for admission to the Division of Nursing by February 1st when only one semester of general education/prerequisite courses remain to be completed. Incomplete applications will not be accepted
after the February 1st deadline. Applications for the Division of Nursing can be obtained from the Division’s Office or Martin Methodist College Office of Admissions.
Admission of On-Campus Transfer students to the nursing program is provisionary until all core and prerequisite courses are completed successfully with a grade of “C” or higher and the minimum grade point average of 2.5 must be maintained. Students who do not maintain a minimum grade of “C” in prerequisite courses or earn a grade point average of less than 2.5 will be dismissed from the program
               
OFF-CAMPUS TRANSFER STUDENT APPLICATION AND ADMISSION
 
Tran-scripts from all academic institutions attended must be submitted to complete the application process. All students transferring from two or four year degree granting institutions must have completed all but one semester ofcore and prerequisite requirements. Transfer students may complete the required course work at Martin Methodist College or at the institution from which they are transferring. The Division of Nursing, in collaboration with Martin Methodist College Office of the Registrar will evaluate transcripts to determine if core and prerequisite course requirements have been met.
Admission is provisionary until all core and prerequisite courses are completed successfully with a grade of “C” or higher and the minimum grade point average of 2.5 must be maintained. Student who do not achieve a minimum grade of “C” in prerequisite courses or earn a grade point average of less than 2.5 will be dismissed from the program.
All transfer students admitted to the Division of Nursing will be advised by an assigned nursing faculty mentor prior to enrollment. Advisement activities of an assigned faculty mentor will assist students in planning the completion of their general education and prerequisite course work. Each student will be tracked for his/her courses to ensure efficient and timely progression through the general education and prerequisite courses.
 
TRANSFER STUDENTS FROM OTHER NURSING PROGRAMS- APPLICATION AND ADMISSION 

Students transferring from a nursing program to the Division of Nursing are required to request a letter of reference and a statement from the head of the nursing program stating that the student is in good standing within the nursing program. The letter of reference must be from a nursing faculty member who taught the applicant in his or her most recently completed semester. These materials are to be mailed directly to the Chair of the Division of Nursing from the originating institution. Applications, transcripts, letters of reference must be received no later than February 1st.
