At the present time, Martin Methodist College has licensure programs in five (5) major fields of study.  As Martin Methodist College increases its number of majors, the number of licensure programs will also increase.  The following majors have a program to receive a licensure to teach in grades 7 -12 in the State of Tennessee:



Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with Licensure 7 - 12
 
Mission Statement\Goals:
Graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree program in Biology with Licensure 7-12 will:
1. Master information from courses taken in general education, biology, and professional education;
2. Exemplify high standards of social, intellectual, emotional, academic, and professional behavior;
3. Promote Judeo-Christian values and ethics as they relate to their students, peers, administrators, and parents;
4. Nurture their students by modeling and promoting the ideals of American democracy and personal wellness; and
5. Pass the appropriate Praxis II examinations and attain certification as a secondary biology teacher in Tennessee.

Biology Major Non-licensure


Bachelor’s Degree in Business With Licensure 7 – 12
 
Mission Statement\Goals:
Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree program in Business with Licensure 7-12 will:
1. Master information from courses taken in general education, business, and professional education;
2. Exemplify high standards of social, intellectual, emotional, academic, and professional behavior;
3. Promote Judeo-Christian values and ethics as they relate to their students, peers, administrators, and parents;
4. Nurture their students by modeling and promoting the ideals of American democracy and personal wellness; and
5. Pass the appropriate Praxis II examinations and attain certification as a secondary biology teacher in Tennessee.

Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with Licensure 7-12
 
Goals: Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts Degree program in English with Licensure 7-12 will:
1. Master information from courses taken in general education, English, and professional education.;
2. Exemplify high standards of social, intellectual, emotional, academic, and professional behavior;
3. Promote Judeo-Christian values and ethics as they relate to their students, peers, administrators, and parents;
4. Nurture their students by modeling and promoting the ideals of American democracy and personal wellness; and
5. Pass the appropriate Praxis II examinations and attain certification as a secondary English teacher in Tennessee.
