Thank you for your interest in Martin Methodist College’s Music Department, housed in the center of campus in the beautifully renovated Gault Fine Arts Center. This historic building is home to a 125-seat recital hall, a choral rehearsal room, practice rooms, classrooms, offices and 10 Steinway pianos, making Martin Methodist College the 96th All-Steinway Institution in the world. The department currently offers a major in music, a minor in music, music courses for non-music majors, and five performing ensembles open to the entire student body.

Degree Programs

Music Major (degree requirements are listed here.) If you are interested in pursuing a major in music, please complete the following steps:

• Obtain admission to Martin Methodist College. See www.martinmethodist.edu/admissions for specific requirements.
• Complete the Music Major Application form and submit it to mhagewood@martinmethodist.edu. Deadline is June 1 for fall enrollment.
• Schedule audition OR submit a DVD audition.
• Schedule on-campus musicianship test.

Once all admission materials have been received, a music faculty person will contact you with the status of your application.

Music Minor (degree requirements are listed here.) If you are interested in pursuing a minor in music, please complete the following steps:

Musical Ensembles

If you are interested in participating in any of the performing ensembles, please contact the appropriate faculty member to schedule an audition. Auditions are open to all students, regardless of major.
