Praise & Worship Band

The MMC Praise Band serves two primary purposes: one educational and one ministerial.

It is a music ensemble of the Department of music that can be taken each semester for one semester credit hour. In that capacity it serves to expand the education of our students in regard to the theology, planning, rehearsal and performance of worship music in contemporary church settings.

The band’s other mode of operation involves its musical and spiritual leadership of worship at two of the college’s chapels each month. Church leadership is also nurtured in regard to the development of student worship leaders, within the group, and as public representatives of Christian worship and living in general. In this role, the band represents the college at church worship services and other venues throughout the middle Tennessee area, sometimes accompanying school officials.

If you would like to engage the band to lead musical worship for your church, youth or other event, please contact the Center for Church Leadership at Martin Methodist College at 931-363-9898.

Rev. Rick Jobe: Director and instructor.
