We are dedicated to become a vital partner in the mission of the United Methodist Church. A commitment to be a model of church-relatedness means supporting and serving the churches of the Tennessee Conference and adjacent Conferences of the United Methodist Church. The Center for Church Leadership intends to engage in creative study pondering the hard questions facing the denomination and work to implement programming that will serve the Church and its mission in these extraordinary challenging times.
Based at Martin Methodist College and oriented to the United Methodist Cal Turner, Jr. Church the Center for Church Leadership offers courses and special training events. It is a place of convergence for scholars, clergy, church professionals and lay practitioners to reflect, dialog and learn from each other. We are committed to search out the best and current scholarship resources in literature, electronic media and human expertise and employ them in our educational programs.
We are delighted to be offering a brand new experience in leadership training for congregational leaders. In April of 2007, we launched the Academy for Congregational Leaders. The Academy for Congregational Leaders is now recruiting for the 2010 Classes! We are dedicated to providing a nurturing/educational experience designed to facilitate the development of effective ministry through an innovative and comprehensive leadership training. The Academy offers church leaders an opportunity to grow in their spiritual life, deepen their biblical faith, expand their theological self-understanding as servant-leaders, and gain practical skills for the purpose of becoming effective leaders.
Three sessions will be held at Hilldale United Methodist Church (Heritage Hall), 1751 Madison St., Clarksville, TN 37043 - Sessions will start at 8:00am and end at 4:00pm:
Session I - March 13th, 2010
Session II - April 24th, 2010
Session III - May 15th, 2010
