Certified Lay Minister follows the early Methodist tradition of lay preachers and class leaders who served in Christian community and was established at the 2004 General Conference.

Module I: Call and Covenant for Ministry
Module II: The Practice of Ministry
Module III: Organization of Ministry
Sponsored by the Tennessee Conference Board of Laity and the Cal Turner Jr., Center for Church Leadership; the Certify Lay Minister Academy where module I, II, III will be taught, will be held at Martin Methodist College from May 10 - 12, 2013. The academy is one required component in the steps leading to certification as a Certified Lay Minister.
