First-ever 'Family Day' to be held Saturday, Sept. 29, on campus

Parents, siblings, grandparents, other family members invited to attend event

Martin Methodist College will host its first-ever Family Day on Saturday, Sept. 29, bringing the parents, siblings, grandparents and other family members of current students to campus for a day of fun and fellowship.

The college’s mascot, Rowdy the RedHawk, will welcome all guests from 9:30-10:30 a.m., joined by faculty and staff. An opening session will be held at 10 p.m., and then the schedule offers free time to tour other facilities, where faculty and staff will be available to visit.

Lunch will be served in the dining hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; cost will be $5 per person with children 4 and under free of charge. A 30-minute concert by the music department will be held in the Gault Fine Arts Center recital hall at noon, and a look-a-like contest will be held at 12:45 p.m. in the dining hall. Dessert will be served in the residence halls beginning at 1 p.m. (with commuters being served in the Gault Center).

At 2 p.m., families will have the option of attending a movie at The Martin at a cost of $4 per person or the student/family talents show on the at the Grissom Gazebo on the Campus Green.
