A freshman from Shelbyville, Tenn., was crowned Ms. Martin 2012 on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Kelsie Smith is an accounting major and a member of the RedHawk women’s basketball team. The daughter of Troy and Cindy Smith of Shelbyville was crowned by Maria Charrys, the 2011 winner of the Ms. Martin Pageant.
First runner-up was Teri-Beth Thompson, a senior biology major from Waynesboro, Tenn. She is a member of the RedHawk women’s golf team, the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society and is serving her second term as president of the Student Government Association.
Second runner-up was Erica Rochelle Hanserd, a sophomore biology major from Pulaski. She is a member of the RedHawk Reporter newspaper and the RedHawk Jazz Ambassadors.
Third runner-up was Genevieve Frances Allen, a junior music and biology major from Bunker Hill, Tenn. She is a member of the Thomas Martin Society and Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
Fourth runner-up was Kassidy McCorkle, a freshman sport management major from Tuscumbia, Ala., and a member of the RedHawk women’s golf team.
Selected as Ms. Congenialty was Christin Elizabeth Martin, a sophomore behavioral sciences/human services major from Savannah, Tenn. She is a member of Student Government Association, Student Activity Council, the MMC Concert Choir, the Praise and Worship Band, and the Student Christian Association.
