Summer Youth Program
The Martin Methodist College Summer Youth Program seeks to expose its participants to a variety of activities along with promoting social growth. Unlike some traditional sport camps, the intention is to provide a broad and varied activity program to participants. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to provide a holistic experience that leaves participants with a sense of physical, social, and emotional accomplishment such that they are encouraged to maintain physical activity throughout the course of their lifetime.
AGES:
Children ages 5-9 are JUNIORS; Children ages 10-12 are SENIORS; and Preteens ages 13-15 are JUNIOR COUNSELORS.
ACTIVITIES:
Computers, Art, Theater, Cooking, Video Games, Recreational Sports, Team games, Outdoor activities, Science, Swimming and so much more!
DATES:
This program is offered weekly. You can sign up one week at a time or for multiple weeks.
June 4-8; 11-15; 18-22 and 25-29. Each Friday we will have presentations at 3:30 p.m. in the Martin Hall Auditorium or the Gault Fine Arts Recital Hall.
COST:
The cost is $125 per camper per week. Multiple children or multiple weeks are discounted to $100 per week/child.
DAILY ROUTINE:
Drop off is 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and Pick up is 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. both at the Jazzman’s Café located on the Martin Methodist College campus across the street from the Martin Movie Theater. Your child will need a swim suit and towel, a lunch with a morning snack, and .50 to $1.00 each day to purchase snacks from the concession in the afternoon.

The goal of the Junior Counselor program is to provide 13 to 15 year olds with the opportunity to be mentored by bright and charismatic college-aged counselors and staff and to learn the leadership skills that are necessary for them to act as role models for children younger than themselves. Junior Counselors will be assigned to a specific group for the duration of the sessions, and through hands-on experience, will have the opportunity to interact with counselors and instructors in the operation of the Summer Youth Program. They will have an extensive amount of direct interaction with program participants and as such should be friendly and approachable.
