Laura Morefield is an Instructor of Human Performance and Physical Education at Martin Methodist College. She began her career in academics as an undergraduate student at Martin where she received a B.S. in Physical Education with emphasis in Fitness Management. Upon completion of her undergraduate program, Mrs. Morefield began graduate work at Tennessee Technological University where she obtained a M.S. in Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Wellness with an emphasis in Lifetime Wellness.
Mrs. Morefield has been teaching at Martin Methodist College since 2010. She is a certified CPR/AED/First Aid instructor with the American Red Cross. Along with teaching First Aid and Emergency Care, she teaches several physical education activity courses including: Walk, Jog, Run, Personal Fitness and Wellness, Recreational Activities, Ballet and Modern Dance, and Social Dance.
In her spare time, Mrs. Morefield enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her friends, family, and Jackson (her Shih Tzu who believes that he is actually a person). She took ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap classes for 12 years and taught classes in ballet and tap for 10 years. During this time she has been in several productions of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, choreographed many dances for performances and recitals, and danced in half-time shows during the Music City Bowl.
