MMC's Drama Department Presents a Twist to a Classic Play

Martin Methodist College’s (MMC) Dramatic Arts Program will present a children’s stage adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
English Professor Dr. Kayla Wiggins adapted the play to the children’s stage and serves as director. “Midsummer Night’s Dream is such a funny comedy that it resonates with all audiences and all ages,” said Wiggins. “This adaptation focuses on the magic of fairies and the comedy of the lovers’ quarrel and the workmen’s play to provide a good time for everyone.”
The cast and crew comprise students, community members, and MMC staff. The cast includes Chris Allen, Robert Austell, Fayth Dennis, Sydney Gregory, McKinley Heard, Evan Hill, Trevor Ivey-Bodman, Larissa Perdomo, Savanna Wilbanks, and Lydia Wossum-Fisher. The crew includes Robert Austell, Daarte Matteau, Heather Scherr and Jessica Sudduth.
The production will be held on December 6 and 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Martin Hall Auditorium. Admission is free, and the community is encouraged to attend.
