The Gault Fine Arts Building and Barton Art Gallery were opened in Fall, 2009, upon completion of the restoration of the old gymnasium on the campus of Martin Methodist College. Since then, the Barton Gallery has hosted many exciting shows, such as the NASA Collection of Space Art; We Shall not be Moved – a civil rights exhibit from the Tennessee State Museum; and a show from the Smithsonian Institution, entitled: Indivisibles, which addresses the connections between Native Americans and African Americans. We have also shown local artists’ work and that of various artists from around the globe. Gallery Hours: 10 am to 5 pm weekdays (closed during school breaks.)
