Student Government Association
Student governance on the Martin Methodist College campus is conducted through the Student Government Association, (an explanation of the powers and duties of this organization is spelled out in the SGA Constitution). The Honor Council is composed of student, faculty and staff whose duty it is to hear academic infractions. There are two representatives of SGA present at all sessions of Traffic Court. The Disciplinary Committee is composed of students, faculty, and staff whose duty it is to hear disciplinary infractions

Hayley is a senior from Tullahoma, TN, majoring in English Literature, and she is also working on her Professional Writing and TESOL Certificates. She has previously held SGA office positions as Student Body Secretary and Sophomore Class President. Hayley is a member of the Thomas Martin Society, Sigma Tau Delta English Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society.
Student Body Vice President – Savannah Shelton
Savannah is a senior from Pulaski, TN, majoring in Elementary Education. She is also Omicron Delta Kappa President, Kappa Delta Pi President, Gamma Beta Phi, Student Teacher Education Association, W. Garie Taylor Honor Society, and Long Range Education Planning Committee. Savannah has previously served as Junior Class President.
Student Body Secretary – Rachel Sutton
Rachel is a sophomore from Jackson, TN, majoring in Biology. Last year she served as the Freshman Class President before taking on the role of Student Body Secretary. Rachel is an active member in Gamma Beta Phi Society and the Biology Club.
Senior Class President – Emily Lewis
Emily is a senior from Shelbyville, TN, majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. She is also a member of The Call, Thomas Martin Society, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the Woman’s JV Soccer Team. Emily has also served as Junior Class President
Senior Class Senator – Brittany Spears
Brittany is a freshman from Hohenwald, TN, majoring in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology. This is her first year serving on the Student Government Association. She is also a Freshman Year Experience PAL, President of the Criminal Justice Club, and a member of the Student Activity Council, Gamma Beta Phi Society, and Pi Gamma Mu Society.
Junior Class President – Jessica Smith
Jessica is a Junior from Fayetteville, TN, majoring in Liberal Arts with a focus in English. She is a member of the Student Activity Council, Student Christian Association, and Girl Talk. Jessica has previously held Student Government Association offices as Freshman Class Senator and Sophomore Class President.
Junior Class Senator – Markeyta Bledsoe
Markeyta is a junior from Elkton, TN, majoring in Criminal Justice. This is her second year serving as a Class Senator as she was previously the Sophomore Class Senator.
Sophomore Class President – Jasmine Sanders
Jasmine is a sophomore from Selmer, TN, majoring in Psychology with an emphasis in Human Services. Jasmine served as Freshman Class Senator last year. She currently serves as the President of the Thomas Martin Society, is an active member in Girl Talk, and sings in the school
Sophomore Class Senator – Sabrina Gilliam
Sabrina is a sophomore from Manchester, TN, majoring in Biology. She is a member of the Biology Club and a member of Residential Life staff at the student apartments. This is her first year serving on the Student Government Association.
Freshman Class President – Sarah Shelton
Sarah is a freshman from Pulaski, TN, hoping to major in Nursing. Sarah will be working closely with other Student Government Association member on their objectives.
Freshman Class Senator – Katie Heard
Katie is a freshman from Lawrenceburg, TN, hoping to major in Nursing. Katie is a member of the RedHawk Cheer Team.
